What I’m Into November 2018

I do these post monthly and I would love for you to comment back what you’re into, based on the different categories. I am always loving suggestions!

Reading

Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott – I’m not lying when I say this was one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. Lamott gives a detailed break down of the writing class she teaches her students at a University in California. She is a fantastic writer and I loved reading her advice.

Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis – So I put this book on my holds list at the library back in June. Turns out I was 258 on the waiting list! It was finally my turn this month! This book has swept 2018 self-improvement book culture and for good reason! Rachel Hollis is so relatable.

I really enjoyed the book BUT if you have read any Brene Brown.. well Brene is just on a whole other level (you know my love for Brene runs deep)! If you are just starting your self-reflective journey and beginning to work on yourself – definitely read Girl Wash Your Face. But if you have read a self-improvement book here and there and haven’t read Brene Brown yet…..go read Brene Brown!

Watching

Narcos Season 4 came out this month and it consumed several days of my life.

Don’t worry the kids were fed and watered.

Celebrating

We celebrated our 9-year-olds birthday this month! She doesn’t turn 10 for a few more weeks but she wanted to celebrate her birthday when we were with our family over the Thanksgiving break. Her gift this year was an experience swimming with the dolphins and she was ecstatic!

Listening

HELLO….. ONLY CHRISTMAS CAROLS during this time of year – specifically Mannheim Steamroller

Visiting

This month we visited family in AZ for 10 days. During those 10 days, we took an adventure to see The Grand Canyon and it was breath-taking, to say the least. National Parks (mainly Yellowstone) have such a special place in my heart.

For the last couple of years, I have been filling out our National Park Passport whenever we visit a NP. If you visit a lot of National Parks I encourage you to purchase a passport here. Collecting the stamps is something my kids love to do.

Mommying

Sometimes I get in these weird phases of watching Youtube makeup videos. This month was one of those phases.

One of the products recommended in a video I was watching was this Noxzema Beauty Wand. This thing is AMAZEBALLS! It’s like a tiny razor that you use all over your face. It says it removes dead skin and improves texture. I love the difference in how well my makeup looks now after using it! #momwin

During my bottomless pit of watching Youtube beauty videos – I discovered Brianna Fox…do you know her? Where have I been? I’m a huge fan now! I love how detailed she gets in her makeup videos because we all know mama needs a little help in the makeup department.

Another favorite product that I discovered this month were these reusable purée food pouches.

We do baby led feeding – so our 8 month old mostly eats solids but these pouches are perfect for on the go snacks. I love that they are reusable, I can purée my own baby food or buy the glass jars at the store and transfer them into these pouches.….again so he can feed himself and mama is hands-free! #winning!

I also bought these tights this month. My 3-year-old doesn’t grow so she still fits into all her summer dresses (from summer 2017..no joke). Since its getting colder outside I needed a way to keep her little legs warm and these are perfect for that! There are so many colors and they’re thick too – so I think they will last quite a while.

Last but not least – make sure to enter your email below so you can be sent a sweet personalized email by yours truly whenever I post a new article! Great things coming in 2019.

Happy Birthday to your daughter! Double digits!! I just finished the book by Rachel Hollis and I have to say I didn’t really love it. I just felt it didn’t live up to the hype. Thank you for recommending Brene Brown. Putting that on my Goodreads list!

Happy Birthday! I wish that I would have gotten a cool present growing up like swimming with dolphins! What a blessed little girl.

I’ve been hearing so much about the book Girl Wash your Face, so I really need to read it! I have such a hard time finding time to read between my full-time job, blog and 4 month old!
