What I’m Into – September 2018

I do these post monthly and I would love for you to comment back what you’re into, based on the different categories. I am always loving suggestions!

Reading

Tribes by Seth Godin – I.loved.this.book! Seth talks about how each of us has the ability to start a movement and create a tribe of like-minded people – more so because we all need a tribe to belong to. This book is such a confidence booster outlining that every single one of us are leaders in our own unique way!

Creativity, Inc. by Ed Catmull (president of Pixar) – Brene Brown recommended this book saying it had a profound impact on her work – say no more, I went out right away and got it. It was a great book and I would highly recommend it – definitely to someone in a managerial position.

I’ve also been reading a lot of articles on Medium. Have you ever heard of it? Its pretty much a social media platform for blog posts and I’m a fan!

Watching

American Horror Story Season 6 – If you love everything scary movie-ish and haven’t watched the American Horror Story series – GO! Season 6 was sooooo scary, I was hooked! We are behind – I think Season 8 just premiered. *Note – Nothing will ever top Season 1 and 3 for me but Season 6 came really close!

You know when you’re laughing so hard you can’t breathe and your face is soaked from tears?! That is what I looked like when I discovered BrandiTV, especially while watching this youtube video of hers. If you are in need of a good laugh – check it out. She does makeup tutorials under the influence and they are hilarious!

Best news everrrrr -> Black Panther is now on Netflix!!! I am not big into superhero movies (besides the Batman movies) so I wasn’t too excited when my husband drug me to see this in theaters. However, it’s now one of my favorites! I love how it’s more about culture than your ‘typical superhero movie’.

I was so excited when I saw it was now on Netflix and the fact that my 3-year-old loves it too.. winning!

Celebrating

This month we celebrated our 9-year-old coming home! She spends the summer with her mom and those 3 months seem so long without her here but everyone is excited she is back! In fact, we missed her so much we decided to homeschool her this semester! So random, but who really knows with us – we are just living one day at a time.

Listening

I listened to the audiobook Lead the Field by Earl Nightingale, who was 1 of 15 surviving Marines aboard the USS Arizona during the attack of Pearl Harbor. Such a good book, he is very inspirational and motivating.

I also just discovered Pat Flynn’s Smart Passive Income Podcast this month (where have I been?!) If you aren’t familiar with Pat, he is pretty much the Dumbledore of all things blogs!

Visting

We are season pass holders to Sea World and September is one of my favorite times to go as the crowds are down and the heat isn’t as bad!

Oh ya and I’m going to go ahead and say my 3-year-old is a dolphin whisperer because every time we go this dolphin plays with her through the glass and I live for it.

Momming

I have been on a purging craze! Do you want to know how to jump on board this craze? Go follow @minimalismandmotherhood on Instagram! Holy Cow! I scroll through her IG and it motivates me to get up and donate half of my house – which I pretty much did this month and there is no better feeling!

If you need gift ideas or want to spoil yourself – go check out Free Spirit Mama on Etsy. Here is a beautiful moonstone necklace I just bought myself from her.

She makes the cutest jewelry pieces! I have supported her several times throughout the years because I love her style, the great quality, super fast shipping, cute packaging…. I could go on and on so just go and check her out for yourself!

Also why am I just discovering the Derma Roller – What’s a derma roller? I had no idea until a couple weeks ago but apparently, it’s the bee’s knees in the anti-aging world and mama’s about to turn 30 so sign me up. So far I really like it. I wash my face, roll this contraption over my face, and then put on my moisturizer or facemask.

Also how cute is this fall coffee cup!? Yes!!! It can be found here and made by yours truly!

Lastly, make sure to scroll down and enter your email address so you can stay up to date with my latest post and everything going on up in here..up in here (I know you sang it)!
